Your 3-day Marrakech to Fes desert tour begins with an early pickup at your accommodation or the nearest accessible meeting point. Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass, with scenic and comfort stops along the way.
Continue to Aït Ben Haddou to explore its traditional earthen architecture, with time for lunch. Travel onwards to Ouarzazate. Depending on the overnight location confirmed for your tour, continue through the Valley of Roses towards Boumalne Dades. Studio visits and kasbah interiors follow your confirmed programme and opening times.
Your first overnight will be in Ouarzazate or Boumalne Dades, depending on accommodation availability and the season. We will confirm the location and accommodation with you before booking. This is a full travel day, so an early start helps allow time for stops.
After breakfast, leave your confirmed overnight accommodation in Ouarzazate or Boumalne Dades for Tinghir and Todra Gorge. Enjoy a short walk beside the river beneath the high canyon walls, with time for lunch along the route. Continue towards Erfoud and Merzouga as the landscape changes from mountain valleys to the edge of the Sahara.
Meet the desert team beside the Erg Chebbi dunes for your camel ride to camp. Sunset viewing depends on the season and arrival time. If you prefer 4×4 access or a combination of camels and 4×4 transport, arrange this with us before departure.
Spend your second night at the desert camp specified in your booking. Meals, room arrangements and any optional activities follow your confirmed accommodation package.
Wake early for sunrise over the dunes if weather permits, then enjoy breakfast and return to Merzouga using the camp transport arranged in your booking. Meet your driver for the journey north to Fes.
Travel through the Ziz Valley, known for its palm groves, and continue through the mountain scenery around Midelt. Stop for lunch and comfort breaks along the route before crossing the Middle Atlas. Visit the cedar forest near Azrou when time permits; Barbary macaques are wild animals and sightings cannot be guaranteed.
Continue via Ifrane to Fes, where we drop you at your accommodation or the nearest accessible point. This is a long driving day and arrival time varies with road conditions, stops and the season. Avoid booking an onward flight or train close to the expected arrival.
